Echotech Training Sessions Awarded BSE CPE Credits

7/12/2009

Echotech hosted a 7th Clinical Training day on Saturday 5th December, 2009.

The sessions are held bi-annually and are a crucial component of Echotech Clinical Governance arrangements. The training days have also been recognised by the British Society of Echocardiography in terms of Echotech Staff BSE reaccreditation.

Echotech Clinical Training Sessions are awarded 0.5 BSE CPE credits per day.

Each session follows the same structure. Firstly, Keli Glover (Clinical Operations Director) conducts a review of the Echotech Reporting Guidelines. This is essential to ensure reporting consistency across the organisation. Secondly, Dr Raj Sharma (Clinical Lead) covers a specific clinical area. On Saturday, Raj presented on the Right Heart which included slides on:

RV Systolic Function
RV Diastolic Function
Pulmonary and Tricuspid Valves

Key elements of each training session forms part of the subsequently revised reporting guidelines. Version 7 of the Echotech Reporting Guidelines will be released to all team members January 2010.
