The Technology

• The Siemen's ACUSON P50 ultrasound system (see picture below) is a compact hand carried advanced ultrasound system providing imaging excellence wherever clinical solutions are needed

• Our ultrasound systems provide high quality imaging capability in a small easy to transport unit

• The equipment is fully digital to make the review and storage of data easier

• Portability is the key element, allowing for the first time the capacity to take the diagnostic test out to the patient

• This machines offer the full range of capability (2 dimension, M mode, pulsed wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, colour flow mapping and tissue Doppler imaging) and comply with the DH echocardiography clinical procurement specification

• The iCardiogram system (iCardiogram.co.uk) draws study images and data from the P50 ultrasound machine and uploads it directly to a secure internet site, the echo report is then completed and filed online (using the web browser)
  
  
• Once uploaded, the report and associated study images can be viewed and reviewed by anyone with the appropriate security privileges within minutes of study end for QA, peer review and clinical governance requirements
  
  

• Cardiologists in the local NHS network can be offered access to the study report and images too, hopefully eliminating the duplicated hospital studies
