DH PolicyTransforming Community Services Community services are today undergoing a dramatic transformation. "Procedures that could once only take place in hospital can now take place in the community." World Class Commissioning demands that service provision in the modern NHS delivers both Quality and Value. Providers must therefore be fully resourced to deliver the required standards. "All the visions emphasise the importance of rapid access to diagnostics in community settings." Community services are seen as being critical for the delivery of improved services for patients. One such procedure that is becoming more widespread within the Primary Care sector is standard adult Echo. "PCT Commissioners need to develop a detailed plan for transforming community services." Key Developments Community Quality Framework and Quality Accounts Implementation of the NHS Standard Contract for Community Services Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) Echotech is Ready Echotech has developed a service fully aligned with DH Policy and its vision for the future of community services.
