Service Specification
Echotech provides an integrated, flexible and quality assured Echo service supporting the patient journey 'end to end’.
Echotech depolys single Echo 'units', equipment and staff, across institutional boundaries and therefore allows resources to be shared between commissioning organisations.
All clinical operations are overseen by the Echotech Clinical lead, Dr. Rajan Sharma, Consultant Cardiologist Echocardiography Specialist.
Dr. Sharma is supported by a Clinical Operations Director and a regional structure of Clinical Operations Managers.
In summary we provide:
- Transthoracic Echocardiography services in line with NICE, NSF and BSE Guidelines, includes all staff, equipment and consumables
- Community based echocardiography – working with Clinical Commissioning Groups to provide rapid, integrated and closer to home services (case study)
- Hospital based echocardiography – working with the Acute Sector to provide support and training services (case study)
- Herceptin Screening for oncology patients (case study)
- Quality Control of clinical services with weekly audits
- Patient Management Centre for complete patient booking and administration
- On line archiving for easy ‘real time’ access to study images / reports via UltraLinq (case study)
- Complimentary non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests to include: 12 Lead ECG, ambulatory ECG/BP monitoring, point of care natriuretic peptide testing
- Full support in service evaluation including submission of tailored Quality Accounts based on a wide range of quality indicators
- Clinical support for service users including GP / nurse training seminars and free of charge GP Echo Handbook
