Internal Quality Assurance
Echotech operates a robust internal QA process and comprises of three levels and is operated on a weekly basis:
- The echocardiogram is conducted and reported by the field based BSE Cardiac Physiologist. If there is any uncertainty or advice required then the Cardiac Physiologist ticks the 'peer review' box on the report form. This then flags the study to the next line of review.
- A 10% sample of Report and Images performed by the Cardiac Physiologist is reviewed by the Line Clinical Operations Manager.
In addition to the 10% sample, all studies suggested for cardiac referral are reviewed to confirm findings and conclusions.
Finally, the requested 'peer review' scans are addressed (approximately 10%). - 10% of all studies performed by the Clinical Operations Managers are reviewed by the Clinical Lead.
In addition, it is the Clinical Lead's responsibility to oversee and evaluate the quality of reporting of two Cardiac Physiologists per month (sample 10% of study images).
This results in a minimum of 30% of all studies being reviewed by a Clinical Operations Manager .... weekly
