An Acute Trust

In 2008, Echotech won a contract to supplement echo capacity for a Hospital Trust within NHS North West - the initiative being to relieve short term pressure across the various sites. In order to tackle the required number of scans (200 per month) in the most efficient way, Echotech opted to run its clinic on Saturdays and Sundays, utilising 2 staff members on each day scanning a maximum of 48 patients per weekend.

Echotech was fully responsible for the clinical quality of the diagnostic service supplied with a bi-monthly audit of studies by the local Clinical Manager - a major difference over employing locum staff with no governance arrangements in place to guarantee their skill and experience.

A key benefit for the Trust in using our services was the ability to taper off the service we provide on a month by month basis as patient waiting times dropped and new NHS staff came on board.
